” Hola Pinker Tones!

Hello everyone!
Our American tour is gradually drawing to a close. There are four more concerts to go in sunny California and then we will be on our way home.
As you all know, we have worked on a few different projects in our mobile PinkerLand Studio while travelling across the US. One of them is a new track in Spanish, unreleased until now, which Nike has just posted online so that YOU, our fans, can participate in making a video for it!
The song is called “Anda, Corre, Vuela” (Walk, Run, Fly) and you can find it at our myspace blog: www.myspace.com/thepinkertones
The idea is that you can upload images that represent the words of the song… and the video will be made using the images received…
And you can free download the track on the same page!!!
Enjoy!

El paisaje mas bello de la gira!
Hola a tod@s!
Manso
Take a look at my lobster…
Dear Vans Warpedians,
Yes, I have sampled the idea from Gym Class Hero, but since his is a sample from Supertramp’s Breakfast in America, I think we’re fine… I have some interesting news for you: Furia and Manso have gone paparazzi.
Before leaving to America, I was asked by spanish newspaper La Vanguardia to write two long articles during the Vans Warped Tour. I have now finished them and they will be published on the 13th and 20th of August. As usual, Profesor Manso will illustrate them with his wonderful pictures.
Since both articles are very food related, here is a photo of me eating a huge lobster at the No Name Restaurant in Boston… Take a look at my lobster!
Have a good day,
Untatooedly yours,

Pinker Press Update
Dear Vans Warpedians,
Here is a selection of the press we’ve had so far on this tour. We want to thank Paul and everybody at Nacional for the work they’ve done.
“This Barcelona duo hit like a spicier Daft Punk, keeping the retro electronica but trading the po-mo mind games for hip-twisting grooves. Bring oil if you catch them on Warped Tour this summer–you will be doing the electric slide.” - SPIN 6/08
“The Pinker Tones ruled. So up my alley, three dudes dressed alike — in silver and black, no less — bumping electro jams that reference the DFA’s urban chic, Daft Punk’s fun and Eurodisco’s overall danceability. The Barcelona trio also appeared to be having the most fun of any group there.” - RIVERFRONT TIMES - St. Louis, MO - 7/1/08
“Warped pioneers.” - ORLANDO WEEKLY - Orlando, FL - 7/10/08
“These Barcelona synth-rockers have found a way to become the next big Daft Punk confection without seeming derivative.” - NEWSDAY - Long Island, NY - 6/29/08
“Spain’s dynamic DJ duo The Pinker Tones blow the laces off the Vans Warped Tour and defy (or maybe redefine) music genres.” - HISPANIC MAGAZINE - 6/08
“Barcelona’s playful Pinker Tones just might be the most eclectic group to play America’s Warped Tour. - FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM (Fort Worth, TX - 7/20/08
“Mister Furia and his partner Professor Manso reflect the diversity of their city and serve up an fantastic mix of pop, funk, soul, bossa-nova, break-beat, swing, lounge, and psychedelia beats–a surreal and über happy and upbeat cocktail of booty-shaking bass electronica.” - ON TAP MAGAZINE (Washington, DC - 7/2/08
“Amid the sound and fury of this year’s Vans Warped Tour… fans will hear a unique blend of pop, rock, funk, bossa nova, lounge, psychedelia, Euro-dance and electronica emanating from one of its many stages.” - VIRGINIAN-PILOT - Norfolk, VA - 7/14/08
“Wild Animals is a series of synth-gilt pelvic meditations on the the real world stars and audience both occupy, with tracks like “Worker Bees” and “Sexy Robot” distilling the anomie into bootilicious joy.” - MEANSTREET MAGAZINE - Los Angeles, CA - 6/08
“Global dance party: Pinker Tones give Warped Tour international flair.”
- ST. LOUIS POST DISPATCH - St. Louis, MO - 6/28/08

” Whatever crops up in the music — retro-funk breakdowns, bachelor-pad bossa novas, catchy choruses in Romance languages — the beat endures and thrives [on Wild Animals].” - NEW YORK TIMES - 6/1/08
“The boys from Barcelona hit the streets with [Wild Animals], a surprisingly confident and joyful collection of jaunty hooks and mondo beats that fully exploits all that the Pinker Tones hear and integrate in their port city.”
- THE WASHINGTON POST - 5/6/08
“This group from Barcelona has developed a brilliant way to bring people to a musical climax thanks to their genius fusion of languages and rhythms in an electronic mood. ‘Wild Animals’ is one of the most amazing albums of the year.”

Fan of the day!
Working Bee # 1 has been a bit lazy on the last few days, but I had to finish a loooong article for a spanish Barcelona based newspaper called La Vanguardia. As usual, my article will be illustrarted by one of Profesor Manso’s brilliant pictures. This will be a series of two and they will be printed in early august. I will post the exact publishing dates in the nearest future.
About the last days I would very briefly say that we’ve had constantly rainy weather, but today in Philly the sun came out again and so did the shorts and sunblock, to whom we’d given a rest for the last few days. In this rather sunny mood we also received a really nice message I’d like to share with all of you.
Nothing to add, except Ali is hereby declared official fan of the day!
Untatooedly yours,
Mr. Furia
Ali’s message:
Hi! My name is Ali, and I just wanted to tell you guys how much I loved seeing you at Warped Tour on Monday, July 14 in Charlotte, NC. I have been going to Warped Tour for the past 7 years, and have never been so pleased with a CD I’ve bought there. I purchased Wild Animals and The Million Colour Revolution and love them both! Hope to see you in the US again soon!
Blame Canada!
…as Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote in the South Park Movie! We’ve been in Canada for a couple of days, Toronto first and today Montreal. We’ve had the day off which is a blessing and we’ve had the chance to go to a music shop with our friends Arif and Moe from Protest the Hero to help them choose a keyboard for some new stuff they are doing. Then we had Thai food and went to see Vieux Montreal. You can imagine hw relaxing it is was for european eyes to see something that’s over 25 years old. We haven’t had much sightseeing on this trip, so it’s been very refershing. We also found a very cool art gallery. I f you live in the Montreal area check it out. It’s called Yves Laroche (www.yveslaroche.com). And now we’re going to go for Dinner and Margaritas… Our beloved Pecker is leaving the pinker expedition tomorrow AND it’s Leigh’s birthday. So, it’ll be a LOT of margaritas!
I’ll be back soon,
Mr. Furia aka Working bee # 1
GOOD BYE USA!
Dear fellow Vans Warpedians,
Here we are at the end of the first perido of the Vans Warped Tour. And we’re moving into Canada today. That means some of our friends on the tour are very happy (Protest the Hero, Beduine Sound Clash, and all other canadians on the tour) and some aren’t, because they can’t enter the country…
Anyway, we’ll miss them and hope to see them back soon as we reenter the States. Dave, our driver, is not specially happy about Canada or Canadians (obviously it’s all a joke!) and when we told him for the first time that we were friends with Protest the Hero, who are canadians, he looked at us shaking his head and said: “You don’t care who you’re playing with , hu?” We all had a big laugh.
Well, TPT are very happy to visit Canada again, since we’ve been treated so nicely both times we’ve been there. Looking forward to see all of our Toronto friends, can’t wait till tomorrow.
Today we’re in Detroit and it looks like it’s going to be one of crowdest days of the tour: over 20.000 kids! Yesterday we played Cleveland, which happened to be one of the best shows so far. But our friend Dante from ths Skullcandy tent, who is a Detroit local, has spoken to a lot of people who will com to see us. So, that’s good!!!
I’ll tell you about us crossing the border tomorrow.
Have a nice and vanswarpedized day.
Untatoodely yours,
Mr. Furia aka Working Bee # 1
EXTRA, EXTRA…
Preface:
I’m sorry that I haven’t been writing in the last few days. That’s because: 1) touring is exhausting 2) touring doesn’t give as much spare time as you think 3) I’ve been working on this little 4th of July story for a few days.
Hope you enjoy it!
I’m sure that Dallas is as good as anywhere else in the US of A to celebrate the 4th of July. We had the chance to spend ours –the first one for all of us, except for Paul, our tour manager– in the heart of Texas. And for us, being on the road, the simple fact that it was a day off, already made it special. But again, we had the same feeling; Dallas downtown on Independence Day is a ghost town, except for a little fair, just like the last city we had the chance to visit: St. Louis. The afternoon we had planned to visit St. Louis, The Cardinals were playing, and that’s why we found an empty city, well… apparently empty, until we bumped into the stadium.
In Dallas downtown we had a similar feeling. Walking away a few yards from the fair, no one to be found… Except for an ocasional homeless person trying to be nice to get a buck. We thought we deserved a decent meal, and where can you go on a fourth of July in Dallas to have a meal? Well, if you want to see the real thing, the answer is a Steakhouse. We actually chose one that had a bit of a scary name: Butcher’s, but hey… the most amazing angus steak you can imagine. Paul and Niño had great pieces of angus meat and I had a memorable Angus Ribeye Steak. Manso didn’t want to be envolved in the cow masachre and had a vegetarian meal in what we will gently describe as an italian restaurant.
Manso is a wise person and had a bad, but reasonable meal, for the saharian temperature that was waiting for us outside the restaurant. Our thoughts didn’t go that far; we’d blindly followed our stomachs and now we were going to pay for it.
As soon as we got out, we started to sweat cow grease and we barely couldn’t stand up to Manso’s walking rythm. Nontheless, and under the rather hallucinating effect of meat and heat, we made it to the Dallas Plaza. Dave had just told us that touring a few years earlier the motor of his bus had died exactly on the same spot as they had shot JFK. Nothing to add on this matter, except Profesor Manso’s photo.
Obviously we did all that whisteling quietly (we didn’t want to be beaten to death by locals) the Dallas TV series tune. It’s almost as inpropper as to play Stairway to Heaven in a guitar shop. But it’s one of those, you just have to… It was very hot, that is our only excuse. And the haunt of the Ewwings was floating in the air…
Back in the hotel, we had a last swim at the pool, before getting back on the bus. After a swim it felt a bit better, but the heat was still a bit hallucinating. I lay on my back and looked up to the sky, and I saw something I didn’t expect to be there: the hotel projected against the sky and in the precise angle I was looking at it, had he shape of a cow head.
Bestos regardos,
Lazy Bee # 1 aka Mr. Furia
COCODRILOS, DELFINES y otras criaturas
Hola a tod@s!
Tiburones? No, delfines!
